THE AMERICAN HERITAGE RIVERS INITIATIVE

A thinly veiled attempt by the federal government to gain control of America's rivers and watersheds

The attached copy of the Colorado House Joint Resolution 98-1023 says it in a nut-shell, and we applaud the Colorado Legislature for its efforts We encourage freedom-loving individuals everywhere to circulate copies of the Colorado Resolution among as many of their elected officials as possible, along with encouragement for them to emulate Colorado's action.

The American Heritage Rivers Initiative is one of the ways president Clinton is attempting to move our nation into the New World Order through complying with the United Nations' Agenda 21.

The following quotes are taken from the Federal Register: May 15, 1997 (Volume 62, Number 94) [page 26897]. They are from a statement by the Environmental Protection Agency.

"The Sustainable Development Challenge Grant program is consistent with other community-based efforts EPA has introduced, such as the Brownfields Initiative, Project XL, the President's American Heritage Rivers Initiative, Watershed Protection Approach, Transportation Partners, the $mart Growth Network, and the Community-Based Environmental Protection Approach."

"The Sustainable Development Challenge Grant program is also a step in implementing Agenda 21, the Global Plan of Action on Sustainable Development, signed by the United States at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992."

"Through the Sustainable Development Challenge Grant Program, EPA also intends to further the vision and goals of the President's Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD), created in 1993 by President Clinton." [A reading of the reports by the PCSD show clearly a connection to Agenda 21.]

The following quote is from the "U.S. Report to the OAS Regarding Progress in Implementing the 1996 Bolivia Summit on Sustainable Development." The 1996 Bolivia Summit on Sustainable Development was, according to the report's introduction, a group of "the elected Heads of State and Government of the Americas, gathered in Santa Cruz de la Sierra as decided at the Summit of the Americas held in Miami in 1994" [to] "reaffirm our determination to move forward toward sustainable development." "Sustainable Development" is, of course, the lynch-pin of Agenda 21.

"In January 1997, President Clinton established the American Heritage Rivers Initiative to help communities restore and revitalize waters and waterfronts. The American Heritage Rivers Initiative will integrate the economic, environmental and historic preservation programs and services of federal agencies to benefit communities engaged in efforts to protect their rivers."

Why else would we be making a report to the OAS about the American Heritage Rivers Initiative if it is not part of our efforts to comply with the "agreement," and thus with Agenda 21?

Since his election, president Clinton has been intent on moving our nation away from national sovereignty and into various treaties and agreements that transfer sovereignty from the states to the federal government and from the federal government to the United Nations He has had considerable aid from the Congress (to wit: NAFTA and GATT), but where Congress has failed to enact legislation to this end, he has by-passed it with Executive Orders.

If we are at all interested in preserving the God-granted freedoms enshrined in our Constitution, we must join together in a concerted effort to resist the efforts of the globalists, who now seem to be in control of our national government.
